The Layman and His Bible
The Nature of Christ
The aim of this study is to show that Jesus was
equal to His Father in every respect
until He took on humanity.

notice words highlighted in lilac,
or bold or Italic.
When the text is LILAC move your mouse
over the word or words for a detailed description of what to do

3 Who being the brightness
of his glory, and the express
image of his person, and upholding all things by the word
of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat
down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 Being made so much better
than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more
excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the
angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have
I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and
he shall be to me a Son?
10 Ye
are my witnesses, saith the
LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know
and believe me, and understand that I
am he: before me there was
no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11 I,
even I,
am the LORD; and beside me
there is no saviour.
Jeremiah 23:5, 6
5 Behold, the days come,
saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous
Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute
judgment and justice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall
be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this
is his name whereby he shall
be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
31 And he was seen many
days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem,
who are his witnesses unto the people.
32 And we declare unto
you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto
the fathers,
33 God hath fulfilled the
same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus
again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art
my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
vv.8 Philip saith unto
him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
vv.9 Jesus saith unto him,
Have I been so long time with you,
and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen
me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then,
Shew us the Father?
John 16:15
15
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said
I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto
you.
Revelation 1:7-18
7 Behold, he cometh with
clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which
pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because
of him. Even so, Amen.
9 I John, who also am your
brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom
and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called
Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus
Christ.
10 I was in the Spirit
on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as
of a trumpet,
11 Saying, I am Alpha and
Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write
in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are
in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos,
and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia,
and unto Laodicea.
12 And I turned to see
the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven
golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of
the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed
with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps
with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs
were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were
as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto
fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice
as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right
hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged
sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his
strength.
17 And when I saw him,
I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon
me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth,
and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen;
and have the keys of hell and of death.
Revelation 22:13, 16
13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end, the first and the last.
28 And when all things
shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself
be subject unto him that put all things under him, that
God may be all in all.
Exodus 6:3
3 And I appeared unto Abraham,
unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the
name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was
I not known to them.
**If it is essential to believe in and use the
name JEHOVAH to be saved,
then these men are lost!
